Shift out of stress and overwhelm and be ready to move forward with ease and flow in 5 minutes!

If you're anything like me, you really want to start gathering some momentum for the year, and see yourself on a beautiful runway towards your  goals.

What I'm feeling though is it is really easy to get stuck in feeling overwhelmed and not moving in any kind of ease or flow.

Can you relate?

 Maybe you’re feeling anxious, stressed, scattered and un-grounded. Your mind’s racing but you can’t focus on any one thing you need to do.

 Maybe you’re engaging in easy distractions to avoid your tasks or stuck in looping thoughts.

Are you stuck in just trying to survive? Stuck in all the stress, deadlines, financial burdens - all the stress that our modern lives throw at us, that we can’t even begin to imagine what this new chapter, this new story might look like.

And we can't even begin to believe it’s possible

 And look, you are not alone.

But is it time to find a moment of peace and clarity just for you so here’s a 5 minute routine to learn how to quickly and easily shift your energy.

 You’ll find that as you begin to regularly implement some of these tools, the more easily and quickly you can reset and you can get some clarity on the very next thing that needs to be done.

So even if you have only 5 minutes, take it and use it to care for you.

Here's my best tips.

1. Power of your breath:

● Don’t underestimate the power of the breath to ground you and shift your energy.

● Take three deep breaths and visualise that breath traveling up to the top of your head. And then as you breathe out, see it going all the way down to the tips of your toes and grounding you in the earth.

● In this grounded moment, you can ask yourself, what do I need right now? 

What is the next thing to be done?

2. Sensory circuit breaker:

● You could try cold water on your hands or face or clenching  your fists, then unclenching them.

● Try getting some connection with muscles in your body. You could dig your heels into the floor, noticing the tension centred in your heels as you do this. T

his reminds you that you are connected to the ground and you are in the present moment, safe and in control.

3. EFT Tapping : 

 The next piece is to do a really powerful mind-body technique. It is called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and involves gently tapping on specific meridian points on your face and upper body. As you gently tap these acupressure points on your hands, face and body with your fingertips, you can focus on the emotion or belief that youwant to resolve and release. 

 This process helps to tap out of you the real-life trigger, stress-point, emotion or whatever needs to be released and shift out a heightened state QUICKLY.

 The acupressure points focused on in EFT are on your face, under your nose, on your chin, at the top of your head, underneath your arms, on either side of your hands. Tapping these points promotes a beautiful flow of energy to bring your nervous system right back down to a state of calm.

Putting it into Practice:

Now, the magic happens when you combine these elements into a 5-minute routine:

➔ Find a quiet space: Even a corner of your room or a park bench will do.

➔ Close your eyes and start with 5 deep breaths: Inhale slowly, feeling your belly expand, and exhale completely.

➔ Take a sensory break: Focus on one sense at a time. What do you see? Hear? Smell? Taste? Feel? Immerse yourself in the experience.

➔ Tap and release: Spend 1-2 minutes tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on what you need to release. 

➔ You might start saying out aloud or in your mind as your tap the points:

➔ “Even though I feel so overwhelmed, I completely and totally accept myself”...or "even though my mind is  so busy" I completely and totally accept myself".

➔ After your 5 minute overwhelm fix, Open your eyes and take a final deep breath:

➔ Notice how you feel. More grounded? Less agitated? Congratulations!

Remember: Consistency is key. 

The more you integrate this 5-minute practice into your day, the better equipped you’ll be to handle whatever life throws at you.

  So, take a deep breath, engage your senses, and tap your way to a calmer, more centered you.
